Firstly, time is money, negotiation cost is also cost
As time is money, saving time means saving money. Some customers might not notice the negotiation cost.
Met one customer on Linkedin said: “The LED display factory quantity in Shenzhen is more than the McDonald’ all over the world!†Sounds like it’s really a headache to be a buyer somehow. Meanwhile, I noticed that he’s been in contact with more than 4 sales in our company, suddenly I understand why he feels like that.
As there’re so many LED display factories in China, it’s better to negotiate with 1 sales from 1 company. The sales is like a window for you to know more about the factory, usually 1 window is enough at the very beginning.
One of our old customers is also having headaches with getting too many messages on WeChat from his suppliers. Not including thousands of emails, so we can understand that both buyers & sellers are facing different problems.
Secondly, share as much info as possible
As many purchasers are super busy, you may only send short sentences for “ I’m interested in the product.†or “I want to have a 3D screenâ€.
Some sales may be busy too & won’t quote the price at first email, and will ask you, what screen size you want to build, and how will you install/control the LED screen. In fact, they’re not lazy & don’t want to give you a quote, but they’re trying to get more information to offer matched solutions.
Meanwhile, they’re trying to motivate you to reply to their message & not just stay for a quote stage. For example, we need to consider the maintenance method of the screen. There are different models to meet different demands, and their prices are different too.
It’s hard to share all the information at first email, and sometimes purchasers don’t have very detailed information. It would be better if you could share the screen size (Width*Height) & installation site picture to see roughly what the environment is & viewing distance are, so we can offer a matched model. A picture tells thousands of words. Or it would be a good way to ask SQM price with specification at the first stage.

So usually the screen size should be fixed to be installed on certain areas.

Thirdly, the gold time & how to bargain to bargain with your supplier
It’s smart to ask price together with the specification, such as the LED, driving IC, spare parts & accessories included with the pictures. To make sure you’re comparing apple to apple.
Then just follow your heart for which supplier is more reliable, and ask him for the best price. For example, there are San’an/Hongsheng/Xinyin, Kinglight, Nationstar LED brands, SMD, COB, and GOB LED technology, but the price difference is a little bit too.
At the end of a month or a season, sales usually want to rush for the best sales output, so they’re most likely to offer MAX discount for you.
Also, at the end of the year, and before CNY-Chinese new year, the company always has some big promotions, but at the same time, it would also be a peak season for orders. The disadvantage is the leading time may be longer, shipping cost might be increased in the busy season too.
Last but not least, You get what you pay for.
As the price of different models varies a lot, that’s the reason why some sales don’t want to quote the price in the first email.
For example, the fine pixel pitch screen, the TV studio screen requires dual power & signal backup, HDR, compared to regular screens no need dual backup & HDR, the price is double.
So that’s why we usually ask where your screen is to be installed, we’ll analyze if high-level spec. is needed.
Some customers might think that a big discount can be offered, but in fact, what we quote is B2B ex-Factory price, and margin is small, and the price is very transparency in the market.
There’s a 3D inquiry as follows, the customer would like an HD 4K 3D screen, and the offer is around 359K$ for around 400sqm, while his budget it 100K$, finally client changed the size from 400sqm to 100sqm to meet their budget.
