1. Set Your LED Display Brightness Now
(1) First, please log in the NovaLCT software, and choose ‘Brightness’ on the interface.
(2) Second, choose the right brightness adjustment mode. There are two modes: manual adjustment, and auto adjustment.
1.1 Manual Adjustment
The main application scenario is for rental LED display. Just drag the bar, and you can achieve the instant adjustment for the screen.
Please notice that “Grayscale†is generally for indoor LED display, and it will have better performance in grayscale when changing the brightness. And “Contrast†is typically for outdoor SMD LED display when the ambient light is higher.
After finishing the setting, please click “Save to HW†to send the parameters to LED receiving card.
1.2 Auto Adjustment
Auto adjustment is for fixed LED displays. Click “Wizard Settings†on the bottom to turn to the setting interface.
As you can see, there are two modes here: advanced adjustment and adjust by the light sensor.
You can easily understand their meanings literally according to the explanation under the terms. For advanced mode, you can set a timetable for adjusting brightness automatically as the system will change brightness at different time points.
However, for the other mode, the brightness will be only controlled by the LED light sensor.
If you choose this mode, please connect the light sensor physically to the LED display controllers first. It is worth noting that only Novastar MCTRL300 and MCTRL600 support direct connection. Otherwise, there should be an MFN300 card for the connection.
For the light sensor mode, please choose “Light Sensor Test Modeâ€, and then click the button “Refresh†two times to update the newest values.
After finishing the above steps, check “Whether to Enableâ€.
2. More Settings for Ligh Sensor Mode
You can achieve flexible automobile brightness adjustment by light sensor settings.
2.1 Noticing Points

(1) For multiple controllers cascading, the LED display light sensor should connect to the first controller, or MFN300 card that connect to the first controller.
(2) Night mode can not run offline.
(3) Multiple screen configuration does not support offline mode.
2.2 Quick Section Division Configuration
For this part, we need to set both maximum values and minimum values, and how many sections between them. The recommended number is 20 sections.
There is also a night mode for you to check if you do not want your display to become too bright at night. Please remember this mode can not be operated under offline state.
3. More Settings for Adjustment Mode
In the auto adjustment mode, click “Add†to add specific time points for different brightness levels.
And then, set the time points and brightness level in the pop-up windows.
4. What If I Want to Use Offline Mode?
The first thing you need to do is to set the right time for the LED controller.
Just turn to your NovaLCT interface, and choose “Hardware Information†from the pull-down list of settings.
And then, click “Setâ€, and “OK†on the pop-up window to set the computer time to the hardware successfully.
